Stem Sales Training needed three things: a website that cost less
to run, tools for tracking prospects, and someone to look after its
technology. The first step was a rebuild that moved the site onto
free hosting.
Stem Sales Training was founded by a salesperson with more than ten
years of experience in the field. Its purpose is to pass on what he
learned there: the word tracks and the ways of handling objections
that lead to a sale. When I met him, the business was a few months old
and the coaching was in good shape. The difficulties lay in three
practical matters, and they shared a common feature. Each one quietly
drew on money or time that could have gone into selling.
An expensive website: The site ran on a site-builder plan that charged far more than a site of its size requires.
Prospecting by hand: Each prospect had to be found individually, one search at a time. That method works for ten names and becomes impractical at a thousand.
Time lost to administration: He looked after the domain, the business email, the tools, and the billing himself. Each task was small on its own, but together, they took hours away from selling.
“[Decawise] takes the time to listen, understand our goals, and implement solutions that deliver immediate results. Their knowledge and ability to execute are exceptional.”
What I did
A website serves the people who already know they want help. A comprehensive list of prospects
makes it possible to reach more people who can benefit from the help. Stem needed both, along with
someone to manage these services over time.
Rebuilding the website
I rebuilt stemsalestraining.com as a fast, visually appealing site, with the founder's voice and style kept at the centre of it. The new website runs on free hosting, and every page leads toward a single action - booking a consultation.
Prospects can get in touch in two ways: fill in the contact form or start a conversation through the webchat (available on every page).
Finding new clients
I developed a tool to help Stem find and keep track of prospective clients within its target market.
Stem now uses this tool to plan their outreach. The hours once spent searching now go into conversations.
Managing the business systems
I moved Stem's domain to a lower-cost provider and connected it to the new site. I also set up the email so that messages from the contact form reach his inbox and stay out of spam, ensuring the website stays up and running without issues.
Providing ongoing support
I am the person Stem calls when technology gets in the way. Decawise covers maintenance and updates to the site, advice on potential tools before purchasing, and help with billing questions.
Before launch, I carried out a full review of the site and fixed each issue including adding the privacy and terms pages every business site should have.
The website
The design is bold and direct, in keeping with the founder's
coaching style. The site is live at stemsalestraining.com.
Six services, each described with the details a sales manager looks for.
The contact form asks for team size, which tells the founder what each inquiry is likely to need.
The about page tells the founder's story in his own words.

What's next
The site and the prospect list are now in place. The next step is to measure
how well they work.
